Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership provides specialist work-related programmes of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the management sector. This qualification offers an engaging programme for higher education and adult learners who are clear about the area of management they wish to enter or progress within. The qualification also provides a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into employment in management following a career break.

This course leads to a recognised professional management qualification which is accepted by some universities for direct entry into the final year of an MBA.

• The minimum age for registration for this programme is 21.
• Have a good first degree, equivalent to a Bachelors degree in any discipline, or other appropriate professional qualification or overseas equivalent.
• Mature Students who do not possess the above mentioned qualification but with 5 years experience of working as a strategic management position can also apply.
• English language skills equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (or 5.5 with compulsory Masters Foundation Programme classes).

What are the career prospects?
The Postgraduate qualification provides students with good opportunities in senior management positions within organisations operating in commercial and service sectors. Eligible students will also be able to progress onto a Masters level qualification (MBA) from most of the University in UK.

Course structure
To achieve the whole qualification, a learner must successfully complete 3 core units (25 credits) and specialist units totalling 95 credits. A minimum of 9 units must be passed. Helios International College has preselected the specialist units to teach, keeping all of the requirements in mind. Unit combination at present on offer is as follows:

Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership
All students must take the following 3 core units Core units (25 credits):

1. Developing Strategic Management and Leadership Skills (10 credits)
2. Professional Development for Strategic Managers (5 credits)
3. Strategic Change Management (10 credits)

Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership
All students must take the following 3 units (minimum of 35 credits):

1. Strategic Human Resource Management (10 credits)
2. Strategic Planning (15 credits)
3. Managing Financial Principles and Techniques (15 credits)

Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership
All students must take the following 4 units (minimum of 55 credits):

1. Developing Corporate Culture (5 credits)
2. Strategic Supply Chain Management and Logistics (15 credits)
3. Research Methods for Strategic Managers (15 credits)
4. Project Development and Implementation for Strategic Managers (20 credits)

Assessment
All our study programmes are organised on semester basis. For each unit students are assessed by the end of the semester separately on the basis of defined learning outcomes. Once the coursework/assignment is assess by the module tutor then Internal Verifier (IV) will go through to ensure required learning outcomes have been achieved. This work is then checked by an independent External Verifier (EV) appointed by Edexcel to grant the qualification.

Progression
Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded with the Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership route for students to continue onto Master’s Degree (MBA). This qualification will enable up to 120 credits points out of the total 180 credit points to be used as exemptions on appropriate Masters Courses. Thus students with the Edexcel(BTEC) Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and leadership may be required to take only the final 60 credits in order to complete a full Masters Degree programme(MBA).

Award and Certification
The students will be awarded the Edexcel Level 7 BTEC Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership which gives 120 credit points out of the total 180 credit points from the MBA/Masters Programme.
