Introduction to Employment Law
This basic course will appeal to line managers and human resources specialists alike, as well as workers who desire a better understanding of their employment rights, and of course their obligations to their employer. It is so important for employers and those responsible for recruiting workers to be aware of the legal requirements in recruitments and the common mistakes that can be made. Managing workers can be a legal minefield that can have serious legal and financial consequences for employers, so those possessing knowledge of employment law and the pitfalls that are possible are particularly attractive to employers.
Course objectives
To equip workers and line managers with a greater awareness of current employment laws and regulations in the UK with regard to hiring, managing and dismissing workers.
To help interpret essential areas of employment law in the real day to day working environment
To reduce the risks of legal action by workers especially through discrimination.
To generally avoid the legal pitfalls in managing workers.
Delivery mode
One day workshop with refreshment provided during tea breaks. Course notes will be provided in a handy folder. Workshop will be highly interactive with questions, feedback and contributions of experience from participants.
