Practical Computer Training 1 – beginners workshop
This beginner’s course introduces you to the basics of using a computer. You need no previous experience with computers to take this course. It is suitable for children as well as for adults. This course is carefully prepared to ease the individual into using computers, with a slow pace, and practical hands-on use of a computer throughout the course. This course is a god foundation to progressing to use applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access which are also available.
Course objectives
This course is suitable for those with no or little experience or skills in using computers. The aim is to develop basic but essential skills in working with computers in the home or office.
This practical and hands-on working will take you through turning/off the computer to windows skills, using the keyboard and mouse, editing and printing, plus much more.
By the end of the course you will be confident in saving work, organising files and folders, using the internet and email.
Delivery mode
Two days giving participants lots of time for hands-on practice in our well equipped computer lab. Refreshments provided at tea breaks. Each session will start at 10am and end at 5pm. Course notes will be provided in a handy folder.

- Start computer menu
- Short cuts
- Desktop
- Managing windows
- Organising files and folders
- System utilities, scan disc, defrag, task scheduler, managing accounts, shut down/stand-by
