Learning If you are an international student you might find the teaching and learning style in the UK different from that of your home country. Unlike back home you may find the classes are more interactive and involving. You will have not only to attend lectures, but also seminars, presentations, workshops, tutorial sessions, group discussions and debates. At Helios International College we understand the need of international students and they are provided with an orientation week to familiarise with the new teaching styles. Also the teaching staffs in the college are very professional and approachable. If you need any further assistance or facing difficulties please approach your course coordinator or the Student Welfare Officer in the administration.

The UK offers a warm welcome to overseas students. However, the UK authorities need to make sure that anyone entering the UK is coming for legitimate reasons. For this reason, you may find that immigration control at your port of entry can be rigorous, and may result in a considerable delay at the end of your journey, especially during busy periods (like the start of term). To assist the immigration officials, keep all your documents in your hand luggage and be prepared to wait patiently.

When you should arrive? Students should aim to arrive a few days before enrolment in order to familiarise themselves with the College and local surroundings and have time to rest before term begins. Airport pick-up We do offer to pick up prospective students at any of the two major airports, but this is usually pre arranged as we would need information such as the arrival destination, flight number, estimated time of arrival, date of arrival etc. A car would then be dispatched to the location and would take the student to either their residence or to the college.
